Starting early May

We are looking for someone to join our small bakery team, working full time on a permanent basis you will ideally have had previous professional experience in a similar artisan bakery. Baking is both a science and an art, you will need a great deal of precision, an eye for detail and plenty of creativity. You will help to develop seasonal specials, products for events and run stalls at local markets.

Previous experience with sourdough and other long fermented breads is definitely preferred as our range is nearly exclusively sourdough. We also produce a large range of viennoiserie and yeasted sweet doughs for which our bakers share prep work with our pastry chefs.

Our bakers start between 5am and 7am most days and work some solo shifts. You must be able to learn fast, ask lots of questions, work independently and manage your own time and tasks well. Stock ordering, cleaning, production planning and heavy lifting are also a part of the role.

Full time (42 hours) including weekends. £17000 - 18500 a year dependent on experience.

Starting beginning of June

We’re looking for an experienced Front of House person to take on a senior role at Forge. You’ll be working with the Front of House Manager to ensure smooth day to day running of the café and shop, as well as supporting new staff, and participating in the development of Forge Bakehouse’s growth.

Speciality coffee is a key part of our café offering, barista experience and a passion for good coffee is a must. You’ll be working with our Head Barista to maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness and presentation. This means weighing shots in and out, keeping to recipe, and pouring beautiful latte art. You’ll be working on a trusty La Marzocco Linea Classic, paired with an Anfim Caimano and EK43.

Full time (42 hours) including weekends. £17000 - 17500 a year dependent on experience.

• Responsible for opening/closing the shop, and taking additional tasks in the absence of the FoH manager.

• Available 42 hours a week, including weekends.


Starting immediately

Six days a week, 9am to 3pm, Forge Bakehouse serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. This means a lot of prep, cooking, and cleaning – it also means, aside from the occasional event night, you’ll only be working daytime hours.

Previous kitchen experience is desirable, but if you’ve got the skills and the passion, this could be your opportunity to learn. We make everything we sell, you’ll be learning about preserves, chutneys, sausage rolls, pizzas, pies, and the rest.

You'll be:
• Friendly and sociable, able to work alongside our passionate teams: Bakers, Pastry Chefs, and Front of House.
• Able to take pride in your work, maintaining high levels of hygiene, quality, and presentation.
• Prepared to receive constructive feedback, grow, and develop.
• Be available at least 27 hours a week.
